Satin Island: Tom McCarthy and Nick Lezard

Tom McCarthy, creator of the International Necronautical Society, joined us at the Bookshop to read from and talk about his latest novel Satin Island. U. is a corporate anthropologist, is employed by government and big business to decode and manipulate the world of information. What, he wonders, might link African traffic jams with roller-blade processions and zombie parades? And how might they relate to Cargo Cults or dead parachutists?
